The Atarashii Apprentice Program is a federally approved apprenticeship training initiative specializing in the beauty industry. It offers comprehensive training in Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics, Manicuring, and Hair Design. The program collaborates with salons spas and barber shops to provide on-the-job training, supplemented by fundamental education resources to ensure apprentices thrive in their chosen fields. Master Colorist + Extension Specialist
Rachel’s approach to hair is detail-oriented but laid back; she loves to create looks that live long and can be styled with ease.
Her talent in colour and cuts has her in constant demand. She succeeds in anything from lived-in balayage, unique fashion tones and blonding, to precision cutting.
If you’re looking for length, look no further! Rachel is Bellami, Ellis Harper, and Hair Shop certified _ she is highly skilled at creating gorgeous natural lengths for devoted fans of long hair. Special occasion styles and updos and textured cuts are also in her realm of expertise.

Senior Stylist + Color Educator
Jesse began his professional hair career in 1996. Born and bred in Arizona, Jesse moved to the PNW in 1991 and considers himself a native Seattlite.
His love of hair is infinite; he owned his own salon for 8 years, and also worked as a color educator for 12 years.
At RPS, Jesse’s expertise in cut, color, and styling is leveraged as a mentor and new talent trainer.

Stylist
Beginning his hair career in 2000, Michael originally trained with Gene Juarez, before working with AVEDA, including a stint as a salon mentor/educator. His love of hair was also put to work doing stage/photo and fashion work at Paul Mitchell.
Michael’s artistic versatility means you are in capable hands whether it’s precision cutting, color or other texture services.

Stylist
Canadian Transplant, with 19 years of experience. She has been in Seattle for 10 years and loves it!
She is passionate about hair and giving her guests a phenomenal look whether it is with a custom color or designer shaping. She not only will give you a look you walk out feeling amazing, but with a new found confidence. She will give you all the knowledge and education to recreate your look everyday at home.
Her specialties are custom color and design shaping. Darcie strongly believes in staying up to date with her skill along with all of the newest techniques by attending continued education courses any chance she has.

Stylist
Starting her career at the Aveda Institute in 2005 in Phoenix, AZ Sara began to hone in on her career. She decided to move to San Diego to continue her training with top brands such as Bumble & Bumble, Paul Mitchell, Redken and L’oreal.
Her training took her all over the world and brought her to the level of Educator for L’oreal Professional. As a color and design specialist Sara became a lead instructor for their assistant program at the San Diego salon for 7 years. Relocating to Seattle in 2020 to continue her training and work.
Sara enjoys the art of color and loves to transform her guests with the latest colors fit to their style, lifestyle and personalities. She also believes in helping people to not only feel beautiful from the outside, but also from the inside. She has trained in overall well being, allowing her to teach yoga, holistic healing, shakti revolution and transformational coaching.

Assistant
Zyg (“zidge”) attended the Gene Juarez Academy and has been doing hair for over five years. With experience from Great Clips to Gene Juarez, they have achieved a balance of skill and intuition, and refuse to stop learning. Ready to cut, color, style and more.
Zyg is a Washingtonian, born and raised, but a new Seattleite, and thrilled to be part of this community. When not doing art in the salon, Zyg focuses on their own crafting at home.

Apprentice
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah and later moved to Yakima, Washington where she was raised. As a little girl, Vanessa loved playing salon with her dolls and cousins when they would visit. When she turned 15 years old her passion for hair and makeup grew and she continued to learn. After graduating high school Vanessa went on to college and received her AA in Business Administration. Unsure of whether she wanted to continue the path of business she decided to follow her passion for hair, leading her to the Atarashi program. She has now teamed up with Rock Paper Scissors to attend the apprenticeship program and pursue her true passions and become a hairstylist.
